Surgical Instruments often require manual cleaning after use. Here are some common steps that should be taken while manually cleaning any surgical instrument soon after use. Simple procedure for the manual cleaning of surgical instruments is as following.
1 - Rinse instruments immediately after use - thoroughly.
2 - Use a scrub brush under running water to remove all blood and tissue on the surfaces and in the joints.
3 - Submerge the instrument in the detergent and allow to soak for 10 minutes.
4 - Scrub your hands with detergent, making sure you scrub under fingernails and narrow portions.
5 - Rinse the brush.
6 - Remove the instrument and scrub with detergent.
7 - Rinse the instruments under sterilized water and allow to dry in air.
